Dave Cantin is the founder and CEO of the Dave Cantin Group (DCG), on track to becoming the largest automotive dealership merger-and-acquisitions firm in the United States.

Cantin personally has closed more than two billion dollars in automotive dealership M&A transactions and sales.

A sought-after automobile acquisitions specialist, speaker, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Cantin, 39, started his career as a new-car salesman out of high school.

By age 21, he was general manager of the large multi-dealership group where he worked in New Jersey. He went on to become a partner and help build the group into one of the nation’s largest dealership organizations.

After selling his interest in the group, Cantin joined an automotive M&A firm where he put together the second-largest automotive multi-dealership acquisition in U.S. history. Only Warren Buffett’s purchase of the Van Tuyl Group in 2015 ranks higher.

In late 2017, he formed DCG with a goal of building the world’s leading automotive dealership M&A firm – a full-service “go-to” resource for dealers seeking counsel on succession planning, employee buy-ins, partnership agreements and other equity-related transactions to ensure their legacies and secure the most value for their assets.

A cancer survivor who underwent five years of treatment for leukemia, Cantin has dedicated a significant amount of personal time and effort to finding a cure for childhood cancer.
He has served as a board member for a number of cancer-related charitable organizations, including Hope & Heroes at Columbia University Medical Center, Project Ladybug, and Hyundai Hope on Wheels, where he served as vice chairman.

In all, Cantin has helped raise more than $150 million dollars to fight pediatric cancer and has pledged to contribute a percentage of DCG’s revenue to the cause as well.

“I’m on a personal mission,” Cantin notes. “This is a cause very close to my heart. I believe children are the way of the future, and I won’t stop until the day when no child has to hear the words: ‘You have cancer’.”

Cantin maintains homes in California and New York.
